Once you have chosen your seafood, the best way to ensure it stays as fresh as possible for your trip home is to pack it into an esky or cooler bag with ice.

If you’re making an extended trip, we offer foam boxes and ice to keep your fish fresh on your journey home; just ask our team.

When stored correctly in an airtight container at 5°C or below, fresh seafood should be used within 2 to 3 days. If you need to freeze seafood, ensure your freezer bag has as little air as possible and freeze at -15°C or below.

To thaw frozen seafood gradually, place it in the refrigerator overnight. If you need to thaw seafood quickly, use the defrost setting on your microwave and stop the cycle when the seafood is still icy but pliable.
